Honoring Relationships: Indigenous Partnerships in Action

At 24/7 OEMS, we believe that meaningful reconciliation begins with authentic relationships, grounded in respect, trust, and shared purpose. Our Indigenous Relations program reflects our commitment to advancing reconciliation in
Canada by fostering inclusive partnerships, creating equitable opportunities, and supporting the cultural, social, and economic well-being of Indigenous communities.

Guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #92, we are proud to walk alongside Indigenous Peoples in building a future rooted in collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect.

Respect, Integrity, & Honesty

We engage with Indigenous communities through transparent, ethical, and culturally respectful practices. Our commitment includes offering in-kind support to Indigenous-led initiatives, fostering safe environments for care, and upholding the rights and traditions of Indigenous Peoples.

Equitable Employment and Capacity Building

We prioritize fair hiring and long-term success for Indigenous individuals by hiring locally and providing culturally sensitive training. We work with community leaders to identify and support talent in industrial health care roles.

Strategic Partnerships & Community Engagement

Our joint ventures with Indigenous communities reflect shared values and promote cultural resilience, economic growth, and community development. We actively  engage with ally organizations to support Indigenous language, health, and  culture.

Education, Training, and Representation

We invest in scholarships, job-shadowing, and training programs to increase  Indigenous participation in emergency health services. Our goal is to promote equitable access to education and representation within our organization.

Policy Leadership and Anti-Racism

We implement policies to counter racism and marginalization, guided by expert collaboration and aligned with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action 92. Our standards reflect a commitment to intercultural understanding and reconciliation.

Recognition and Accountability

We measure progress through achievements such as the PAIR ‘Committed Level’  certification from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. This recognition  underscores our dedication to building capacity-building relationships with  Indigenous communities.

NORTHERN RESIDENT & FIRST NATIONS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Our leadership is very interested in recruiting qualified Northern residents and First Nations personnel that are better situated to provide culturally sensitive care and understand the challenges of delivering health care in austere settings.
