Jack Buchanan CD, MPAS, CCPA

Mr. Buchanan enjoyed a distinguished 21-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces and has been stationed throughout the country, deploying on numerous international operations including a PA position with Canada’s elite special operations unit. Jack's 14 years as a PA is highlighted by five-years experience in emergency medicine in Ontario and Manitoba. Since 2011, he has been working as an occupational medicine PA at a remote Canadian mine site. Jack has a passion for medical education with former faculty positions at the University of Manitoba’s Physician Assistant Education Program and Canadian Armed Forces PA program. Cross-trained as a paramedic, Jack has attained an undergraduate degree in Pre-Hospital Care and has a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Jack has served on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants in numerous roles, most recently as Pacific Chapter President while previously occupying the posts of National Vice-President and Ontario Chapter President. He has also worked with several provincial governments on PA implementation / integration initiatives.
